The Private International Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1995 did not apply to an act or omission that had occurred abroad before May 1, 1996 irrespective of the date of the resulting damage; the Act did not have the effect of making actionable in English law acts or omissions committed abroad that were not actionable in England when they occurred.
