Christopher is a sought-after commercial Chancery junior, with a practice spanning all aspects of commercial litigation, civil fraud, insolvency, financial services and property law. He is often instructed in cases which require his overlapping areas of expertise and which have an international element, including cross-border commercial disputes and asset recovery.
Christopher regularly appears in the High Court, both as sole counsel and as part of a team, with experience in the Court of Appeal and across various Tribunals.
Christopher is appointed to the Attorney General’s C-Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown, and has substantial experience of insolvency disputes involving a taxation element, as well as directors’ disqualification proceedings.
Christopher is qualified to accept instructions directly from individuals and businesses under the Direct Public Access Scheme.
Recent and current work includes:
- Representing the Claimant, led by James Pickering KC, in a substantial commercial court dispute valued in excess of €150 million, which is listed for a 2.5 week trial at the end of 2026.
- Sole counsel for the Claimants in a professional negligence claim by a mortgage lender against two (now discharged) bankrupt former solicitors arising from the failure to achieve security over a property.
- Assisting with substantial security for costs application in the Commercial Court (where the sums sought were in excess of £4 million).
- Appearing in the Court of Appeal, led by Niall McCulloch KC, for the appellants in a Commercial Court asset recovery dispute, relating to the alleged misappropriation of shares in a French fashion company with a value of c.€80 million and a €10 million conditional order.
- The successful summary determination of a substantial property dispute on behalf of the Claimant on the basis that the defence advanced was barred by the doctrine of issue estoppel.
- A retrospective administration application on behalf of the office holder conducting the administration of a substantial group of companies providing care home services.
