The FT Weekend (23/24 October 2021) front page reported “Crypto Fever – Flying start for bitcoin ETF”, surging to a record high of $65,000 last week, as mainstream financial markets raced to open their doors to the cryptocurrency industry. In the last 10 months, two cases before English courts seeking freezing orders against unknown hackers who gained access to and sold cryptocurrency at massive undervalues, focused on the ‘without notice’ relief English civil courts may grant if stolen crypto assets or their proceeds are taken abroad.
