Junior Litigation Series – Commercial 28.07.2025
Junior Litigation Series – Session Six: Commercial
We’re pleased to announce the sixth instalment of our Junior Litigation Series, focusing on key issues in commercial litigation. This session features two concise, practical talks from our members:
Madeline Dixon
Not In My Back Yard: Challenging the Court’s Jurisdiction
Madeline will give a brief overview of applications to challenge the court’s jurisdiction under CPR Part 11 and will examine the procedure for making such an application. In particular, Madeline will address whether and when time starts to run where the claim form has been served by a valid method but out of time, a novel point recently addressed in The Occupiers of Samuel Garside House v Bellway Homes Ltd [2025] EWHC 772 (KB).
James Freeman
Freezing Injunctions: Back to Basics
James will give an overview of how to protect future judgment debts by freezing injunctions. The talk will look at the requirements and procedure for these applications, the potential pitfalls, and will conclude with a review of recent caselaw.”
